I saw these felt, cut-out Christmas ornaments in a shop the other day and about flipped. So simple to make (the shapes are pre-cut and the string is provided), even for someone like me who is more daft than craft.

So I finally gave it a go. What do you think? Well, I got the thumbs up from the beautiful and talented mother of one of Snook's new preschool friends. Snook would have to make friends with the daughter of a fashion stylist. So much for wearing my stinky workout gear to preschool pick-up! Anyway, she made my day with her compliment ("it's all about the tuck"), and then offered me some free advice(!) for how to stretch my big shirt even further. Wear it as a dress with leggings and boots. Will do. Unless of course I'm in the mood for a mullet.
Don't ask me why, but I love Friday Night Lights. Yes, I know Lyla Garrity graduated, but it's still fun to sit around hoping she'll make a cameo. In the meantime, there's this. Go Minka!

This is pretty exciting. For every 5 library books Snook reads between now and November 20th, she can receive a “Cover to Cover” Achievement Award, qualifying her (me) for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at any In-N-Out Burger restaurant. This is probably happening near you, if there's an In-N-Out near you. Story time is sounding pretty yummy right about now.
I don't know what the deal is, but whenever Halloween rolls around I fantasize about dressing up like some pop diva. This year, in a perfect world, I would be all over Lady Gaga. There would be eyelashes, hair, mini-everything, heels, meat (just kidding) . . . I know, I know. Tacky, played out, and best left to the twenty-somethings. But how fun would that be?
These shoes are so pretty and blessedly low. I would wear them with everything.
Have to say, I've got the big-time, love-affair thing going on with my little boy these days. He's just so sweet, funny, delicious, and really, really, ridiculously good-looking. ;)
My MIL picked up some Dapper Snappers for Bubs, and just like that his wardrobe doubled. I've been so frustrated because he has lots of pairs of really nice pants that have been forever languishing in his bureau because he's just not growing into them width-wise. We're talking size 18-24 month pants that keep falling off of my almost-3-year-old boy. But with these nifty things, suddenly all of his pants fit perfectly. They make them in girly colors too. So happy!
If you love a juicy tomato slice with your bagels and lox but hate how it slips and slides, try an heirloom tomato salad on the side instead. An avocado salad would be just as nice. For me, this meal never fails.
