I'd never really heard of monokinis until recently, and now I can't stop scouring the web for cute ones. These are my favorites from
Victoria's Secret, but there were lots more cute ones to be found. The monokini solves my problem of not wanting to bare the mid-section (two kids and all), but still not wanting to be too covered. Because of the cut-outs though, the monokini almost seems sexier than a bikini, which could be a little weird for a beach playdate or for just hanging at the beach with the fam. But then again, maybe not. I'm dying to know--- what do you think of monokinis?

Personally, I cannot wear one. I'm just past that point. I'm a one piece only gal now. They were plentiful on the beach and poolside on Maui...the problem is when fat and/or stretch marks peek out those cutouts. No good. That would be my problem. :-) But I say if you can wear one, go for it! They are very cute.
Yeah, I think those would accentuate my fat more than an actual bikini....Hey Heidi, how ya doing?
I actually had something like a monokini back in college. It looked great on me then, but I'm not sure how I would look in one now. I may just have to head to the mall this weekend to find out!
Amazing pictures. I love these suits. I may venture outside of my usual bikini this summer. Great blog!

I'm with Tina. I'm pretty sure I would actually look worse in a monokini, but if they speak to you and you can pull it off -- go for it! -- Heather
Great monokini debate! All your points are well-taken. I could be fooling myself, but now that almost 2 1/2 years have passed since I had my last kid (longer than any of you) and I finally joined a gym, I feel like my biggest remaining problem area is concentrated in the lower abdominal region, which the monokini covers up so well. Not that I'll be modeling one on the internet any time soon. Love you guys!
