Read, Watch, Yawn

I finally got around to reading Eat Pray Love a little while ago. It definitely held my interest, but I can't say that I loved it. Mostly because I couldn't figure out what the author was so darn unhappy about, and I was consumed with envy that she had the time and resources to do what she did. Yeah, it didn't bring out the best in me. Judging from the trailer, the movie will be just as, for lack of a better word, annoying. But the scenery looks gorgeous, and so is Javier Bardem.

Not The Swayze

Dirty Dancing came out when I was 13, and it's been my favorite all-time movie ever since. Forget that it all but ruined every family vacation for me from that point on. Mom and Dad, couldn't we have stayed in at least one place that offered dance lessons? So to hear of Patrick Swayze's passing is a very sad thing, for his real-life nearest and dearest above all, but also for a former preteen who used to wish like heck she could be Baby. May he rest in peace.
