Wave Hello

Ever since The Great Layoff of 2009, I've had to watch the old beauty budget pretty closely.  Meaning no facials or fancy Clarisonic for me any time soon.  But I did spend a little extra at Target one day and went home with The Wave.  I have to say, it's pretty awesome.  Gets that dead, poor-clogging layer of skin off and reveals the fresher, newer, smoother layer right away.  Ahh, I knew it was under there somewhere.  So I feel no need to upgrade to anything more expensive than the Wave any time soon.  Well, except maybe for the new Sonic version.

Skin-tillating

A little while back, I ran out of my go-to tinted moisturizer. So armed with a gift certificate, I ran off to the Sephora in JCPenney for a new one only to find out they don't carry it. The horror! I never thought I'd stray, but the nice ladies there talked me into one from Tarte as a suitable alternative, and luckily they were right. For about ten dollars less and a lot more dewiness, I might be switching my allegiance permanently. While there, I also found this great concealer and highlighter from Lorac, and this supposedly miraculous primer from Korres to get everything started off right. Don't new products just make your day!

The "Black Box" Theory

Remember Seinfeld's famous query, "What's the deal with a plane's 'black box?' If the black box is the only thing that survives a crash, why not build the whole plane out of black box?" Another less critical but still pressing question might be, "What's the deal with a plane's black box being bright orange?" Answer: To heighten visibility in a wreckage, but then we're still dealing with a misnomer. And I've lost my train of thought. Oh yeah, I've just alighted upon what I think is a pretty good idea. That being to apply Seinfeld's "black box" logic to my skincare regimen. So you know how the skin around your eyes is the most delicate and prone to aging on your entire face? Well, that must mean products intended for the eye area must contain the most potent anti-aging ingredients known to woman. Soooo, why not slather eye cream all over your entire face??? For obvious reasons, I'm sticking to my Bullseye pledge on this one. But it's worth a try, don't you think? Even if there probably is tons of advice out there against doing this very thing. I'll let you know how it goes.

Beach Hair

After my LOOONG overdue haircut yesterday, my stylist recommended this product, Surf Spray by Bumble and Bumble, to get that sun-kissed, ocean mist, windswept hair look that's so craveable. She said something about spraying it on as I'm blow drying and round brushing. Wouldn't that require three arms? Very daunting, especially since I still have trouble coordinating just my two arms with the blow dryer and the brush. But I decided to give it a try. Anything for a shot at beauty. Plus the bottle is black and squooshy! Darn cute packaging gets me every time.

Nice Hooters

My baby-birthing days are over. But every so often I see something that really gets my heart racing and my womb tingling. Like this Bungalow 360 bag that my girlfriend, Marcy, showed up at my house with yesterday. She's going to use it as a diaper bag when her third little one makes his appearance in January. I about died it was so cute. And can you think of a more perfect place to keep your Hooter Hider?
